Grind 56 grams (about 8 Tablespoons) for the 8-cup French press. The ground coffee should be about as coarse as breadcrumbs. Preheat the glass and plunger by pouring hot water inside the pitcher and plunge once to warm everything up. Discard the rinse water.
Step 2
Add coffee.
Step 3
Next, pour hot water (30 seconds off the boil or about 205 degrees F) into the French press, saturating all of your grounds, and pouring to the halfway mark. Start your timer for 4 minutes.
Step 4
After 1 minute, stir the “bloom” (or top layer) and pour the rest of the water evenly to the top and affix the press pot lid.
Step 5
After the 4 minute timer goes off, plunge and serve.
Step 6
Drink the coffee.
First, measure and grind 17 grams (1 rounded AeroPress scoop or just under 3 Tablespoons) of fresh coffee – the ground coffee should be about as fine as table salt.
Step 2
Place the plunger upside down inside the brewing tube with the black rubber part touching the bottom of the number 4 circle and the top of the plunger on the table.
Step 3
Rinse the filter with hot water and preheat the inverted brewer.
Step 4
Add your coffee into the inverted AeroPress. Set your timer for 1 minute.
Step 5
Next, start timer and pour hot water about (30 seconds off the boil or about 205 degrees F) into your brewer, saturating the grounds, and pouring to the top of the 3 level.
Step 6
Use the AeroPress paddle to give a thorough stir.
Step 7
Next, pour enough water to bring the level to above the level 2 circle.
Step 8
Place the rinsed filter and black cap on top of brewer and screw it tightly.
Step 9
When your timer goes off, tip the brewer to a 45 degree angle and spin it for 10 seconds.
Step 10
Flip the brewer on top of your mug and plunge with gentle and steady pressure, stopping as soon as you hear a hissing sound.
Step 11
Add hot water as needed to dilute. Drink Coffee now.
Make sure your machine is warmed up. Preheat your espresso cup.
Step 2
Remove portafilter and wipe it out to clean and dry the basket.
Step 3
Grind and dose your coffee. The coffee should be ground with a quality burr grinder, directly into the portafilter basket as evenly as possible. You should use 19 to 21 grams (about 3 Tablespoons) depending on your basket, coffee and how many days the coffee is off the roast.
Step 4
Tap the portafilter once or twice on the counter or grinder to settle the coffee. There should be a small amount of coffee above the top edge of the basket.
Step 5
Level the coffee or make sure that grounds are evenly distributed in the portafilter. To level, keep your finger straight and glide your finger back and forth across the surface of the portafilter to create an even surface.
Step 6
Tamp the coffee. Be sure to keep it flat to allow for even extraction.
Step 7
Purge (flush) your grouphead. Wait about 3 seconds for water to come out.
Step 8
Insert portafilter into the grouphead. Start the brew cycle and the timer at the same time.
Step 9
Place cup under portafilter and watch the espresso for a steady stream, increasing gradually in speed – ideally the streams should look like little mouse tails. The entire extraction should take 23-28 seconds to brew 1.5 ounces of espresso. If it takes much longer, try a coarser grind. If it brews too quickly, try a finer grind.
Step 10
Drink and enjoy.
Preheat the water. Bring kettle water to a boil and remove from heat.
Step 2
Grind your coffee on a drip coffee setting, about as fine as table salt. You need enough coffee to fill the filter basket, which is about 15 to 17 grams for a 4-cup Bialetti moka pot.
Step 3
Add the heated water and fill to the line in the bottom of the brewer.
Step 4
Insert the filter basket into the brewer bottom.
Step 5
Fill the basket with coffee, slightly mounded, and level the surface off with your finger. Brush away loose grounds on the top edge of the filter basket.
Step 6
Screw the top and bottom together. Use hot pads and don’t over tighten.
Step 7
Put the brewer on the stove, use moderate heat and make sure that the handle is not subjected to heat. Leave the top lid open.
Step 8
The coffee will begin to come out and you will hear a puffing sound and see a rich-brown stream that will get progressively lighter in color. Once the stream is the color of yellow honey, remove from heat source with hot pads and close the lid.
Step 9
Wrap the bottom of the pot in a chilled bar towel or run under cold tap water to stop extraction.
Step 10
As soon as the coffee stops bubbling out, pour it into cups or a carafe. You may wish to dilute with hot water depending on preference.
Start by brewing 1 cup of coffee using our French Press method.
Step 2
Add in 1-2 tablespoons of coconut oil.
Step 3
Add 1-2 tablespoons grass-fed, unsalted butter.
Step 4
Mix it all in a blender for 20-30 seconds until it foams similar to a latte.
Step 5
Enjoy a satisfying and filling cup of coffee.
